Early American Pattern Glass is a reprint of Alice Hulett Metz's book first published in and considered by many to be the "bible" of pattern glass collecting. The Early American Pattern Glass Society contributed by forming a committee of eight experienced collectors and dealers to review and revise the content/5(8).

You should SUSPECT a pattern's name BEFORE HAND from your trusty field guide, then VERIFY it with "Early American Pattern Glass." This book is also very enjoyable just to look through, with a nice color center section.

The value guide is also nice, which is lacking in my field book. Enjoy this wonderful book for what it really is. Recommended/5(15).

One of the very best books on Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG). It is all line drawings and black and white photos, but the images are effective, the listing is among the most comprehensive, and the texts are informative.

It is very good for identifying all of the commoner, and many of the less common patterns/5(5). By far the sloppiest and least informative book on Early American Pattern Glass I've ever read. Originally published in it's had no decent updates since other than a few instances of guesswork at valuation that is clearly not based in today's Antique Market reality/5(12).
